Spring 2024

Catch up with SWEP 3 Rivers and join us!

Welcome to Spring!

The weather may be fickle but that hasn't stopped us from getting out and about. Our group now has over 120 active members and we are always looking to grow, so be sure to share with friends and invite them along to our next event!

There are so many opportunities for volunteering, networking, mentorship, continuing education and of course, community when you become a member of our team and we look forward to coming together to share and learn from each other.

Stay up to date with the latest announcements and events by visiting our website; you will not only find all our SWEP sponsored events but also learn about other volunteering opportunities in the region.

In case you missed it...

Public Service

Watersheds of South Pittsburgh's Ansonia Place Cleanup on February 24

Cold and snowy - that doesn't stop our crew from going out to lend a hand. Tackling litter and debris on the hillside and under the bridge to Ansonia Place. Nothing builds bonds like adventuring into wild places and getting a little dirty. As the weather continues to warm up, we look forward to more opportunities for going outside and preserving these spaces.

Mentoring Meetup

Virtual Coffee with the Board on February 28

February's meetup was held via Zoom, so even those who aren't able to get out and about early were able to join in from their own home or office. This was a chance to ask mentoring questions, learn about upcoming SWEP events and volunteer opportunities, or just come to chat. We always enjoy the conversations with the early bird crowd and hope you will join us for the next one coming soon.

PA Brownfields Joint Happy Hour

Co-Hosted by SWEP Three Rivers & Philadelphia Chapter on March 26

During the annual PA Brownfields Conference, we had a rare opportunity to have two chapter come together for great networking and sharing a meal. When a one hour event easily becomes two, you know that there is some fun to be had. We welcomed 25 attendees, many who are non-SWEP members (a chance to recruit!) at this State College event. There is even interest in restarting a Central PA Chapter to keep the great conversations going. Can't wait to see you next time!
