Please join us for a half-day presentation and networking event co-hosted by SWEP Three Rivers and the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) Allegheny Mountain Section (AMS). This event will feature discussion of regulatory and community issues with proposed solutions around management of per- and poly- fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

    Fees: $60/Member (either SWEP or A&WMA); $75/Non-member

Includes: Technical Presentation, Networking, Full Breakfast, Snack Break, and Beverages. Free Parking is available for all event attendees.

Per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a diverse group of anthropogenic chemicals used in a wide range of consumer and industrial products. PFAS do not easily degrade and some compounds have been shown to accumulate in the environment and in our bodies. Exposure to certain types of PFAS have been linked to serious health effects. This symposium will help to educate attendees on the common dangers of PFAS and discuss regulatory perspective, approaches for correct use, and proper treatment of PFAS contamination in the environment.

    October 20 - 22, 2023

Join SWEP's weekend getaway to the Laurel Highlands this fall! Camp Soles is a 200+ acre facility, recognized by many as one of the most beautiful camps in North America.

Camp Soles provides heated cabins with restrooms and shower access, along with 3 meals each day (prepared by their very own chef!) for all attendees.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in various activities at their leisure. Last year, we participated in different activities throughout the weekend, such as the climbing wall, arts and crafts, kayaking, hiking, and lakeside yoga. In the evenings, we all hung out around the campfire for s'mores, mountain pies, and beverages of choice!
