Fall is here!

As the weather begins to change (sometimes bouncing back like a yo-yo), we can begin to see the leaves change and the pumpkin spiced flavors popping up everywhere. It also means coming together, slowing things down, and beginning to plan for a new year.

There is a lot to look forward to and the SWEP leadership team is looking for new faces and new energy to help keep our group moving forward to provide exciting opportunities for our existing members and those we have yet to meet! There will be some structural changes coming in the new year and we look forward to having your input and support. Additional announcements will be made soon but in the meantime, if you have any interest to become more involved, please consider joining one of our committees:

Programs: to help plan and execute learning, service and mentorship activities for SWEP members and partners
Communications: to help create and share content, tell stories and make our presence known in the region
Membership: to help keep our numbers strong and active by recruiting, encouraging active participation and groom the next round of SWEP leaders

This is an amazing opportunity to relax, play and most importantly, connect personally with many SWEP members. Enjoy campfires and camp activities (as well as great food!) in a beautiful setting. Last year's activities included canoeing on Lake Tris, archery and wine tasting among others. Activities for this year are still being coordinated, an event itinerary will be shared with registrants closer to the event date.

In case you missed it...

Dress for Success Charity Fundraiser

August 18 @ Threadbare Cider

Beautiful weather and great conversation, this event is always a favorite. Thanks to those who participated and donated, we were able to raise almost $2000 for our friends at Dress for Success through tickets, raffle items, and direct donations.

ALCOSAN Open House

September 14 at the ALOSAN Plant

Food, fun, friends, and of course, Frankie the Fish were all present at the annual open house. A few of our SWEP members contributed by tabling during the beautiful day.

It was a day of fun and learning with engaging exhibits for all ages. Our SWEP members facilitated a soil filtration activity to help teach about stormwater, natural plants and filtration, and how this relates to everyday life. Can't wait to be back next year!
